AHMEDABAD: The results of the prelim written examination of class 1-2 conducted by GPSC in March last year have been declared today in which 6152 candidates have qualified.
GPSC announced on November 15 for 224 posts of Class 1 and 2, including 15 posts of Deputy Collector and Deputy District Development Officer, 3 posts of District Deputy Registrar, 20 posts of DYS, 1 post of Deputy Director Scheduled Caste Welfare and 42 posts of Assistant State Tax Commissioner. There are spaces.
There are 81 posts of class-1 and 9 posts of section officer, 7 posts of assistant district registrar and 74 posts of state tax officer and 143 posts of class-2 including 25 posts of district inspector land office and 25 posts of government labor officer.
The prelim was taken in writing on March 21 under this recruitment. 6152 candidates have qualified in this examination. Now the main written examination will be taken on 19th, 21st and 23rd July. The result of the main examination will be declared in November 2021 and three times the total number of candidates will be called for interview. The final result will be announced before December 31.

Due to EWS, more than 27 candidates had to qualify instead of 15

Due to EWS i.e. Economic Weaker Section category, GPSC has had to qualify more than 27 candidates instead of 15 times in the result of Prelim Examination of Class-1-2.
As per the rules, only 15 times the total number of candidates have to qualify but 6152 candidates have qualified against 224 seats.
The cutoff of the last candidate in these three reserved categories was much higher than the cutoff of the last candidate in the general category. But as per the Supreme Court’s guideline, the cut-off was reduced to 118.47 for men and 99 for women so that the cut-off of the reserve category could not be increased from the general category.
