Good news for youth preparing for government jobs: 4546 new requirements announced in Gujarat Budget. Gujarat Budget 2026: A record budget of Rs 4,08,053 crore has been presented by Finance Minister Kanu Desai in the Gujarat Legislative Assembly at Gandhinagar for the financial year 2026-27. This budget, prepared with the aim of all-round development of the state, has seen a huge increase of Rs 37,803 crore compared to last year. This historic budget, which has a surplus of Rs 974 crore, has given good news for the youth preparing for competitive exams day and night.
The government has officially announced recruitment for a total of 4546 new posts in the Home and Revenue departments with the aim of strengthening the administrative structure and providing employment to the youth.
Police and Home Department: 3000 new posts in DIAL 112 project
A budget of Rs 14,265 crore has been allocated to the Home Department to further strengthen the law and order of the state. Under this, 3000 new posts will be created to further accelerate the ‘DIAL 112 Janrakshak Project’, which is a big opportunity for the youth waiting for police recruitment.
For the well-being of police personnel, a total of 20,444 new residential houses are planned to be built in the next 5 years, for which a provision of Rs 1571 crore has been made in the budget. In addition, Rs 136 crore has been allocated for the construction of 107 new non-residential houses of various district offices and police stations. To modernize the security system, Rs 20 crore has been approved for the purchase of 4 anti-drone systems capable of destroying rogue drones and Rs 9 crore has been approved for the purchase of 50 special operational vehicles for intensive patrolling on inter-state borders.
1546 new recruitments announced in the Revenue Department
To make the revenue administration of the state fast and transparent, a total of Rs 5552 crore has been allocated to the department. Of which Rs 2145 crore has been set aside to deal with natural calamities. One of the biggest announcements of the budget is that the recruitment process will be carried out soon by creating 1546 new posts in various revenue offices of the state.
Along with this, new revenue buildings will be constructed at Surendranagar, Mahudha, Lathi, Tankara, Umreth, Abrama and Maliya, while the buildings of Patan, Daskaroi and Thasra will be expanded. Rs 240 crore will be spent on building new colonies for revenue employees in 51 talukas.
Education and Library: Construction of Namo Central Library
To provide international-class facilities for reading and research to students, the country’s largest and hi-tech ‘Namo Central Library’ will be built in the capital Gandhinagar. All types of digital facilities will be available in it and a provision of Rs 100 crore has been made for it. In addition, ‘Bhagwan Birsa Munda Library’ will be set up in 15 talukas of tribal areas.
Other major announcements in Gujarat Budget 2026 for the education sector:
- Namo Saraswati Vigyan Sadhana Yojana: In view of the 19 percent increase in the admission of students in the science stream, a provision of Rs 250 crore has been made for this scheme.
- Namo Lakshmi Yojana: Rs 1250 crore has been allocated for the education of girl students from standard 9 to 12.
- Namo Kaushalya Lakshmi Yojana: A new scheme has been launched for girls studying skill development in ITI, for which Rs 40 crore will be spent.
Help for the differently-abled: Special provision has been made to provide transport and escort allowance to differently-abled students going to school.
5 new GIDCs and booster dose to MSMEs
To attract industries to tribal and backward areas of the state and provide employment to local youth, it has been announced to set up a total of 5 new GIDCs (industrial estates) in districts including Jhalod and Garbada of Dahod and Aravalli.
More than 29 lakh MSMEs (micro, small and medium enterprises) are registered in Gujarat, contributing 19 percent to the country’s total industrial production. To provide financial support to these small industries, a huge provision of Rs 1775 crore has been made under the ‘Atmanirbhar Gujarat Scheme for Assistance to MSMEs’.
