1. Educational Qualification
- You must have passed the 12th Standard (Class XII) or equivalent from a recognized Board or University .
- Crucial Date: You must possess this qualification on or before 1st August 2026 .
- Skill Requirement: You must have a working knowledge of Stenography (Shorthand) in either English or Hindi, as the Skill Test is mandatory .
2. Age Limit (As on 1st August 2026)
- Stenographer Grade ‘C’: 18 to 30 years

Selection Process
Stage 1: Computer Based Examination (CBE)
- This is the main written exam (200 marks). Conducted online in July/August.
Stage 2: Stenography Skill Test
- This is qualifying in nature. You must meet the minimum speed requirement.
- For Grade C: 100 words per minute (wpm) dictation.
- For Grade D: 80 words per minute (wpm) dictation .
- Transcription Time: 40-65 minutes depending on the language (English/Hindi) .
Stage 3: Document Verification
- Once you clear both stages, your original docs are verified by the hiring department.
Exam Pattern & Syllabus (CBT)
The written exam is straightforward. You have 2 hours to solve 200 questions .
